The idea hit me on a lunch run for wings and a burger. I walked into a local sports bar and there, by the door, was a pug on a leash giving the exact expression that says, “Yes, I know.” I laughed, thought “that’s delightfully smug,” and a few days later the concept had strutted onto the canvas—pint and all.
